Set up Two-Factor Authentication in BlackVoice Technologies to protect your account with TOTP-based verification and recovery codes.
## Why Use 2FA? Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security beyond your password. Even if someone learns your password, they can't access your account without the second factor. ### How 2FA Works 1. **Something you know**: Your password 2. **Something you have**: Your phone with authenticator app 3. **Both required**: Login needs both factors ### Setting Up 2FA in BlackVoice Technologies #### Step 1: Access Settings - Open avatar menu - Go to Security Settings - Find Two-Factor Authentication section #### Step 2: Generate QR Code - Click "Enable 2FA" - QR code appears on screen - Manual entry key also provided #### Step 3: Scan with Authenticator Use any TOTP app: - Google Authenticator - Authy - Microsoft Authenticator - 1Password - Bitwarden #### Step 4: Verify Setup - Enter 6-digit code from app - Codes refresh every 30 seconds - Wait for new code if almost expired #### Step 5: Save Recovery Codes - 8 recovery codes provided - Each code works once - Store securely offline - Use if you lose authenticator access ### Best Practices 1. **Backup recovery codes** in safe place 2. **Use cloud-synced authenticator** (Authy) 3. **Don't screenshot QR codes** 4. **Enable on all important accounts** 5. **Test before logging out**
